Energy Science and Technology International Seminar

Faculty of Engineering Sriwijaya University held an international seminar on energy called "Sriwijaya International Seminar on Energy Science and Technology". The seminar will be lasted for 2 (two) days, on 5 & 6 November 2008 will be taking place at the Hall of Masters Management Program at Sriwijaya University Bukit Besar Palembang. Seminar will be followed by speakers and participants from the 4 (four) countries, namely Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and Indonesia. The theme is taken "Stop Energy Crisis". Prof. Dr. Martin Jamin the Ministry of Research and Technology Indonesia said that in 2025 Indonesia will be started using energy derived from renewable energy sources. He hopes, Indonesia in 2025 will be the center of global energy resources, especially for the new source and renewable energy. The seminar will be opened by Vice Rector II, Dra. Kencana Dewi, M.Sc. Ak.

Indonesian Association of Hydraulics Engineering (HATHI) as one of the most leading professional organizations in the country and also as the agent of change in the field of water resources and coastal engineering is prompted to contribute in resolving the problems and reducing the impact of water related risk. Together with the Ministry of Public Works, Greater Jakarta City Government, IAHR, and HATHI intent to invite scientists, practitioners and professionals in the field of water resources and coastal engineering from all over the world to exchange experiences and expose their reserach results in this seminar.
