Legal and Institutional Arrangement in IWRM Course

This course is a brief introduction to Legal and Institutional Arrangement (LIA) in Integrated Water Resources Management and the role of legal and institutional instruments to support the implementation of IWRM Principles in sustainable management of water resources. It deals with the legal and regulatory framework required for integrated sustainable management of water resources.

Training of Trainers (ToT) for IWRM in November 2007, Jakarta

After screening and evaluation, the selected participants of the IWRM Planning course will be gathered during this month and prepare them as the trainers of IWRM Planning. The participants will develop case studies and lesson plans during the ToT.

BAPPENAS, Invitation as resource for setting up networking for WATSAN, in Jakarta

In July 2007, CKNet-INA were invited to participate as the resource guest in a meeting for seting up the communication Networking for Water Supply and Sanitation (WATSAN) at BAPPENAS, Jakarta. A presentation was given on the network activities on CKNet-Ina as part of sharing knowledge and experiences.

Steering Committee conducts the meeting at least once a year or based on the needs. The meeting is used to decide for strategic development and networking policy in the aspect of academic, administration and investment that supports sustainability of network activity.

With the established networking, CKNet-INA is now put in the circle of AguaJaring, as the representative network from Indonesia. After an internal and external screening process, CKNet-INA sent one of his members from Andalas University,  Mr. Endry Martius to attend a ToT course on Legal and Institutional Aspect in IWRM in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in July 2007.

The Workshop expects to have 29 participants including 2 participants from each country of SEA (Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam), four resource persons: 1 from Cambodia, 1 from Lao PDR, 1 from Malaysia (CapNet-AguaJaring) and 1 from Philippines).

CKNet became member of The South East Asian Capacity Building Network (AguaJaring) and the Capacity Building Network on IWRM (CapNet) in 2006. During the first Steering Committee meeting of AguaJaring in Kuala Lumpur in January 2007, the CKNet Network Manager reported the training Demand Assessment and Capacity Building Needs Assessment activities of CKNet.

To conclude the Training Demand Assessment (TDA) activities in the regions, WRIM Project held a National Water Sector Stakeholders Meeting.
